5+1 Tips for YOU

  1. Check travel restrictions and requirements: Before your flight, research and understand the travel restrictions, visa requirements, and any specific documentation needed for your destination. This includes reviewing entry requirements, vaccination or COVID-19 testing requirements, and any necessary travel permits. Stay informed about any updates or changes to travel guidelines.
  2. Pack smart and light: Make a packing list in advance and pack efficiently, taking into account the duration and purpose of your trip. Pack only the essentials to avoid excess baggage fees and make your journey more comfortable. Remember to check airline baggage restrictions and pack any necessary travel documents, medications, and personal items in your carry-on bag.
  3. Confirm your flight details: Double-check your flight details, including the departure time, gate number, and any potential flight changes. It’s advisable to confirm your reservation a day or two before your scheduled departure. Stay updated on any airline notifications, delays, or cancellations that may affect your travel plans.
  4. Arrive early at the airport: Arrive at the airport well in advance of your departure time to allow for check-in, security procedures, and potential delays. Most airlines recommend arriving at least two hours before domestic flights and three hours before international flights. Arriving early provides a buffer in case of unexpected circumstances and helps reduce stress.
  5. Prepare for security screening: Familiarize yourself with the security screening procedures at the airport to ensure a smooth and efficient process. Place liquids, gels, and aerosols in a clear, zip-top bag and remove any large electronic devices from your carry-on bag during screening. Wear easily removable shoes and clothing to expedite the process.

+1. Stay hydrated and dress comfortably: Airplane cabins can be dry, so it’s important to stay hydrated during your flight. Bring an empty water bottle to fill up after passing through security or purchase water at the airport. Dress in comfortable clothing and layer up as temperatures can vary on the plane. Wearing breathable fabrics and comfortable shoes will make your journey more enjoyable.
