Where is Home?

When we move abroad, we think we’re simply arriving in a new country. But over time, we realise that “home” is not a place—it’s a feeling. Many people decide to move abroad in search of a better life. But as time goes on, many also come to see that the feeling of “home” is no longer the same.

Living abroad, you always remain somewhat of an outsider—your accent gives you away, your habits are different, and no matter how well you adapt, something always feels missing. But when you visit your home country, you realise you’re not the same person who left. Your old home has changed, too. The familiar places and faces are still there, yet something feels different—or perhaps you are the one who has changed?

This duality follows you forever. You live abroad, yet your roots are elsewhere. You return home, yet you no longer fully feel at home. Balancing between two worlds, you begin to understand that home might not be a place at all… but rather the people, the memories, and the feelings you carry with you.
