The two thousand year old Chinese philosophy of life
Over two thousand years old, the philosophy of wu wei, which stands for “non-action” or “action without effort”. This approach can help us live a more balanced and fulfilling life in today’s hectic world. Wu wei does not mean to be idle, but to let things happen naturally and not try to control everything.
He suggests three ways to apply it to everyday life:
1.Accept things as they are: recognise that not everything goes according to plan, and move on if you don’t have full control over the outcome.
2. Accept imperfection: Let things take their course. Don’t be too hard on yourself and don’t strive for impossible goals.
3 .Practice mindful presence: observe what is happening around you without judgement. Do not judge your surroundings without judgement.
These practices can help reduce stress and anxiety, allowing you to cope with everyday challenges more easily.
