The property buying frenzy in Spain continues.
Spain’s property market remains popular with foreigners, including many Hungarians, who buy property for its good climate, stress-free lifestyle and rich culture. Austria is the most popular destination for Hungarians, but Spain and Italy are also popular, where property offers a solid investment opportunity.
The rise in property purchases abroad is also helped by the volatility of the forint and political uncertainties, with many looking for an alternative. The Spanish property market is stable and demand for new build properties is growing. New properties are appreciating rapidly and favourable financial structures are available.
In the rental sector, demand is high for short-term expenditure, but long-term rentals can also be profitable. Despite the Airbnb restrictions, Hungarian interest remains strong, but it is important to pay attention to local regulations. The most sought-after areas include Costa del Sol and the Balearic Islands, but Costa Blanca and urban centres such as Barcelona and Madrid are also popular.
Overall, the Spanish property market is stable and although some experts see a bubble, the outlook for the future is positive.
