‘Research Powerhouse’: Abu Dhabi’s Zayed National Museum Confirms 2025 Opening!

Abu Dhabi’s new cultural jewel, the Zayed National Museum, is set to open its doors in December 2025 on Saadiyat Island. Designed by Foster + Partners, the museum will center on the life and legacy of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the UAE’s founding father, highlighting the nation’s historical trajectory and values like religious tolerance.

The building itself is an architectural marvel, featuring five soaring glass structures inspired by falcon wings. Key exhibits include the 8,000-year-old Abu Dhabi Pearl, the world’s oldest natural pearl, and an 1,100-year-old Blue Qur’an.

The museum aims to be a research powerhouse. The Zayed National Museum Research Fund already supports projects enriching the understanding of the UAE’s cultural and historical legacy, with collaborations with international institutions further strengthening this mission.
