Marketing move or calculated decision: Trump temporarily allowed TikTok during his inauguration
Just 12 hours after going offline in the United States, TikTok is back, thanks to President Donald Trump’s intervention. The app became unavailable late Saturday night but was restored by Sunday after Trump announced plans to issue an executive order delaying the app’s ban.
Trump’s move reassured TikTok’s service providers, allowing the app’s 170 million U.S. users to regain access. However, while the app is back for now, its long-term future in the United States remains uncertain as further negotiations are required to secure its permanent presence.
