Better Work Ethic Abroad, or Just a Different System?
Many say that “people work harder abroad”, but is that really the case? Or are work processes simply more organised, systems more efficient, and employees more motivated as a result? 🤔
Does a worker, who toils 8-10-12 hours a day at home, suddenly become more conscientious abroad? Or do they finally get to work in a system where constant overtime isn’t the norm? In many places, the problem isn’t individual performance but rather overworked employees, and promotions or salary raises often depend more on connections than actual achievements.
Take Scandinavia, for example—work-life balance is key. Less stress, more predictable working hours, and guess what? Productivity doesn’t drop—in fact, it typically increases!
So, the question remains: are we really harder workers abroad, or do we just finally get to work under fair conditions?
