Working Abroad but Returning to Hungary for Healthcare – Fair or Not?

More and more people choose to work abroad, attracted by higher salaries, a better standard of living, and a more secure future. However, when it comes to medical care, many still return to Hungary for check-ups, treatments, or even surgeries.

But is this fair to those living in Hungary? 🤔

✅ Right or Exploitation?
Legally, Hungarian citizenship and possible social security contributions in Hungary may entitle someone to use the healthcare system. Many working abroad continues paying social security (TB), keeping them within the system.

❌ But Is It Fair?
Some locals feel that those earning abroad but using Hungarian healthcare put an unfair burden on the system. Medical staff are overworked, waiting lists are long, and the quality of care is not always ideal.
