Christmas in China
Did you know that in China, Santa Claus often appears with a saxophone? Due to the lower prevalence of Christianity, Christmas is more of a modern, urban holiday. Although Christmas is not an official holiday in China, major cities are decorated with festive lights, Christmas trees and ornaments that delight people. It is common for people to give each other apples wrapped in coloured paper, as the Chinese word for “apple” sounds similar to the word for “peace”.
